St. Catherine of Siena

St. Catherine at the beheading of Niccolo di Tuldo

"What the devil can't do himself he does by using other people. He takes up his position on the tongues and in the hearts of his servants and before their mind's eye. He makes them see what doesn't exist. So they conceive within their hearts all sorts of evil thoughts and resentments regarding their neighbors - often regarding those they most love." - S. Catherine of Siena

St Catherine, pray for us - pray much for those facing execution throughout the world, especially those facing beheading and all of those killed unjustly.

  1. Thank you for posting this true comment, years ago I read this story in a huge old book of saints that our priest owned. He was an innocent young man and could not accept dying for something he was not guilty of, she consoled him after all her efforts to free him failed, he submitted his death as to Jesus and as she promised she was there to the very end of life.
