Z also has some good advice for fellow priests here.A 28-year-old priest was shot and killed and another wounded at a Catholic church Wednesday night near the state Capitol, a Phoenix police spokesman said.Police were responding to a burglary call shortly after 9 p.m. near 16th Avenue and Monroe Street at the Mater Misericordiae (Mother of Mercy) Mission, Sgt. Steve Martos said.The wounded priest is in critical condition at a local hospital, police said. Police said early Thursday morning that the surviving priest, a 56-year-old man, was “physically harmed” but not stabbed or shot.The surviving priest called 911, police said. - Fr. Z

Maybe we can stop condemning our priests and bishops and claiming they're all trying to destroy the church and are going to hell, as Michael Voris does, and instead pray for them.
ReplyDeleteI agree. In this time of suffering, I am praying for everyone the world over. I may not like many of them but I have my duty before the Lord to pray as He would have me do, "for enemy and friend alike."
DeleteI do not like the word enemy but one cannot be foolish these days sadly.
May the young priest rest in peace and may the older priest recover fully. May theu heed Fr. Z's advice...we all should.
