PSA: A World-Wide Warning that will happen in the sky...like the collision of two ... comets ... that do not fall down...

I know!

It's the prophecy from Garabandal.  First, a World-Wide Warning that will happen in the sky...like the collision of two stars that do not fall down...*  I inserted comets instead of stars for the heading of course.  But the visionaries said the warning will be 'like' two stars colliding.  What if what they were seeing was two comets?
Signs in the heavens? Two comets racing towards Earth and Sun: ‘unprecedented’
Comet Encke and Comet ISON are converging for a photogenic close encounter. “No they’re not going to hit each other – in reality they are millions of miles apart – but as seen from the STEREO-A spacecraft, they are going to get very close!” - Source
General Absolution.  It could happen.

  1. Garabandal is like the Adams Family to Fatima's Brady Bunch....I love to watch those creepy girls run backwards up the hill in fast motion...hey they were the first "Visionary," reality stars!

I think the Church has kind of swept this under the rug..and didn't one of the girls come out and say it was fake??? I could be wrong in the last one.

  3. Terry,

You know I'm sure my thoughts on Garabandal. I wait to see whether the prophecies will come to pass to vouch for its authenticity. I have never doubted the sincerity of the alleged seers. I see in Garabandal nothing more than an affirmation of the urgency of the message of Fatima as a reminder from heaven. No, Mack the Church has not "swept this under the rug". The bishop of Santander in which diocese Garbandal lies stated simply that the supernaturality of the manifestations of Garabandal could not be proven. That is a far cry from denying their authenticity.

  4. Not a lot of people then those that are "into," this kind of thing, know about Garabandal, so yea, the Church is kind of ignoring it. And these are just questions. Why do you automatically assume the sincerity of the seers? Group hysteria (remember Salem) attention grabbing, some other psychosis or even something diabolical (outside the girls) could all be the answers too. That is why the Church always remains skeptical. To me the girls were doing a lot of parlor tricks that is far beneath anything from God.

I just always wonder why these "predictions," are so convoluted and vague...why wouldn't the Blessed Mother say, "Look in 1974 this is going to happen..." Not saying it doesn't happen, always just a question of mine.

  5. I think Garabandal has been eclipsed by Medjugorje - which in a way makes me think Garabandal may be more 'authentic' - but like Servus - I await the decision of the Church.

When I was there, I had no impression of a morbid spirit whatsoever. In fact, there was noting sensational about the place - except it's rusticity and beauty. The Church posted the Bishop's caution, otherwise it was very quiet.

The events seemed more than natural - the prophecies - a bit confused - but that is what happens in private revelations. Also - things change, or circumstances are subject to change - which is why prophecy must be discerned. John of the Cross writes about that and I've quoted it frequently.

I think poor Joey Lomangino (sp?) may be disappointed if he took the prophecy concerning himself literally. Although he is still alive I think, so who knows, maybe the plane is booked?

    Anyway.

  6. I have never been to Garabandal though I know many who have. I would certainly like to go some day. I have read and researched it for many years which has led me to lean more toward their authenticity than not. Nothing in the alleged messages is contrary to Catholic faith on the contrary they affirm and edify and lead to conversion. I truly want to believe the prophecy concerning 'the warning' is true (but this is nothing new saints and seers for centuries have prophesied this illumination of conscience of all who are alive when it happens. I am moved by the simplicity of the faith of the alleged seers. I am even more moved by the interviews of others who were there during the alleged manifestations. I too believe that Joey Lomangino is sincere. This program by Archbishop Hannon on the subject on FOCUS TV is very good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8CzelO9c_o&feature=c4-overview&list=UUWTJ4G8JPcnhBWeAgBHad8w

  7. Joey is still alive..perhaps he should have moved there? But I don't think the prophecy said he had to BE there. But yea, he is getting up there. It is beautiful, but not enough taverns..(I have a one track mind.)

servusmariaen thanks for the link. I actually find all this fascinating, if I am very skeptical...especially here. Yes, I realize they are saying nothing against Church teaching, but we need to keep in mind, things like this, especially with Medjugorie ...(I am not completely sold on Fatima but its not creepy like the big M...) could be used to distract us from what we need to do in the here and now, especially a miraculous wave going through the world making people see the light. I dont think its that easy...also, the manifestations of the "host," (I hesitate to call it that) and the body contortions, running backwards all add up to a "show," and some of it is eerily similar to once again, the show the girls put on in Salem and other hysterics have done in the most "innocent," case and can be taken as diabolical in the most evil since (running backwards, making a show of using the host, etc.)

As you can see I am skeptical but fascinated by it, on a cultural and psychological way (interesting that all of these happen in small little Catholic villages where the seeds are already implanted in the mind) and in a theological way also of course.

  8. No doubt Joey is sincere and a good man. I think his eyesight was to be restored and if I remember correctly he was to be there for the miracle and would have a plane ready to go.

  9. Mack, you don't even want to know my thoughts about Medjugore...... but Garabandal isn't even in the same category in my opinion. As I said, I'll wait to see what the official pronouncement of the Church is on Garabandal and pray 'the warning' takes place very soon for the salvation of many souls. Now Fatima is something quite different. I am a firm believer in the apparitions of Fatima and it has formed much of my own spirituality and piety however I am first to admit that none of this is required by Catholics as an article of faith. I am skeptical of many things.......VERY many things. However, I also believe in many things that most people would find unbelievable.
